C H A D W Y S

I have always believed that art is about being free to express your feelings in order to give a new perspective, a new interpretation of something already established, known or accepted.

I love the fact that masterpieces are used and transformed not only to present a new piece itself but also a new approach to art.

I simply love it!

DELPOZO

DELPOZO  by Josep Font FW 2013

Amazingly exquisite and delicate. Josep Font for DELPOZO is a treat for the senses. Undoubtedly elegant, sophisticated and wearable at the same time.

This work reminds me of some names such as Balenciaga, Dior, Valentino or Giambattista Valli, not because I am comparing them but for the powerful image of excellence and beauty the work itself reflects. So inspiring.

I am always sceptical and very critical with Spanish fashion and I must recognize I do not specially like what Spanish fashion resembles. I have always believed we are late adopters as we do not invest enough resources to find inspiration, materials and professionals to work with in order to create something really good.

I am happy to see that some designers are trying to do something out of governmental funds support to go further, to reach new levels.

Congratulations Josep Font for DELPOZO on his impeccable work.

New talents, Kat Marks

I love structure, architecture, that´s one reason why I love these body-armors. In some way I like its stiffness and rigidity because you can push and fight against it to finally appreciate real freedom.

What I show you it is just a part of the fabulous work of Kat Marks, a graduated in Fashion Artefact from the London Collage of Fashion in 2011.

This post reminds me of an article I recently read about the crisis of the Milan fashion week where experts have pointed out the lack of new names and young designers.

What it is clear is that new generations are the future. "Fashion is not about looking back, is about looking forward."

Gone with the wind

Giles Deacon SS 2013

Remember Giles´ fall-winter 12-13 collection. Never a catastrophe had such a beautiful ending with models wearing exquisite and still wonderful burned  gowns after a  fire in a noble house.

This season we can keep appreciating the effects from the tragedy. I have no words to describe how amazing this work is.

Mawi for men

Davidelfin NOWADAYS SS2013

Mawi for men

Mawi

Lately I am pretty obsessed with jewellery for men and every time I think about it, Mawi comes to my mind. I have known and loved the brand from the beginning but it´s now when I feel even more in love with it than before.

What I really like about Mawi, apart from the fabulous aesthetic it has, is the blending, the perfect mix between masculinity and femininity that makes them wearable for both, women and men.

Some designers, such Spanish Davidelfin, uses them to present some of his collections. The result is amazingly shocking but what is fashion about if we do not take some risks?

Here you have my personal choice!

The twin effect

Daphne Groeneveld for DANSK magazine

The original picture is a fashion editorial from DANSK magazine. When I looked at it for the first time I felt there was something missing, just a detail, and I came up with the idea of drawing a red line all along the perimeter.

Moreover, I love duplicating images so badly. Maybe it´s because I have a twin brother and this vision is taking over me, maybe not. The fact is that I am mad about the mirror effect and the new spaces, shapes and perspectives you can have as a result of it.

Fendi Vs. Fendi

Fendi SS 2013

They are so architectonic that in some way they could be a suit of armour for feet. I like the layers over the instep, the studs along heels, the combination of materials and textures to present a powerful pair of shoes. Ready to win the battle?
