Mixing prints

Hi readers!

Winter collections are about to disappear from the shops and resort ones will come up shortly. The fashion industry never takes a rest and we have to move on.

For this period in between seasons the key trend is to wear a mix of winter-spring styles. It doesn't mean that you have to die from cold, that´s not cool, nor wise. We suggest you use the imagination to adapt some colourful prints, shapes and accesories in order to create a balanced look.

Today we want to show you two  perfect examples of the idea we are talking about. Look.

Both pieces present floral prints but notice that the clutch has more dark tones and the main motive is a purple flower surrounded by foliage. In contrast, the bright colours of the high-heels.

The yellow tones and the black background is what they have in common. It´s precisely the mix of these two, yellow and black, together with white and purple what make these prints work perfectly.

The clutch belongs to the current Givenchy's winter collection while platforms belong to Giuseppe Zanotti's spring-summer collection 2012.

We love the idea of mixing prints in order to add more fun to winter looks but remeber that not all prints work well together.

We are glad to be back. Have a nice weekend!

Italian style, Marni

Hi readers!

We spend a lot of time watching catwalks, magazines, shops and researching about trends, new talents and it-girls. Now that we have the opportunity to see a considerable amount of outfits and garments we have come to the conclusion that there is something in luxury brands that make clothes different and special. Touching Chanel fabrics is something that helps to understand the high price of a tweed jacket. The fall of some dresses and blouses and the inner style that some garments posses is not comparable to the clothes at H&M, Zara and the rest of "fashion" giants. It´s a fact.

During the weekend we´ve been to some of our favourites shops. We were at Dries Van Noten and we left the shop amazed by the exquisite quality and sophistication of the entire collection. It´s very difficult to transmit through words the feeling we had in the shop. Afterwards we went to Marni which in terms of sophistication is less powerful. However, the inner style of the Italian brand, its prints, accessories and patterns reflect the sublime personal taste of its designer and Creative Director, Consuelo Castiglioni.

Today we want to show you the fall-winter collection of Marni. To us, the most stylish brand. Enjoy.

We can´t help it, we love what Marni is and represents. We are not objective about Marni.

Just one more thing, Alicia was spectacular in Marni outfits!

Have a nice Monday!

Against cold

Hi readers!

Fur coats in black and white together with exotic skin heels are the best way to combat the cold temperatures of the season. Clothes are from Dries Van Noten fall-winter collection and shoes are by Nina Ricci. Coats and shoes are key in winter, they are the most desired garments and they are the first thing which people look at due to the fact that everything else is underneath.

Add a fabulous touch of colour on your nails like the polish we saw you a few days ago and a piece of jewellery from Lanvin or Marni to these outfits for an awesome result.

See you tomorrow!

Colour & collar

Hi readers!

We want to start the week with a colour, the colour of a nail polish you have to have. Definitely a must!

It´s not red, not pink, not purple. We hardly see this special kind of tone that transmits a new concept of femininity and sophistication.

As shoes, hands and nails reveal much more of a lady´s personality so, choose the appropriate pair of shoes and get yourself with this colour.

And what about this awesome collar?

They are one of the main focuses of the seasonal trends. Highlighted by numerous designers, collars are the retro touch to a perfect outfit but nothing compares to this one by Louis Vuitton. Even though it's not a real piece of jewellery it could perfectly play that role.

We leave you imagining the rest of the outfit. Have a nice day!

New luxury era

Hi readers!

Sometimes we wonder what does a brand need to belong the select group of the luxury brands, but there is not only one answer. French experts would refer to heritage as a fundamental requisite to belong to this group, but it is not the only thing. Today luxury is perceived in a different way and brands need to show something more than a perfect image. Something really important is the concept of fashion linked to the art.

Yves Saint Laurent or Elsa Schiaparelli were masters in mixing these two concepts. What is true is that France is where the concept of luxury reaches its height.

Our last post showed a beautiful pair of shoes by Vionnet and today we would like to show you some pictures of the fall winter collection.

Absolutely chic! The new image of maison Vionnet is astonishing, surprising, and overwhelming. So elegant, so feminine. Will it be the savoir faire?

Vionnet is an old house with all the necessary features to lead the new concept of luxury. As Lanvin, Balmain or Givenchy, Vionnet has come back to stay and show what luxury is about.

See you all tomorrow!

The legacy of Vionnet

Hi readers!

We specially love fashion when it's a synonym of  beauty and perfection. Some objects seem to be surrounded by a magic aura that makes them a bit different. This is what we felt when we saw these pair of shoes.

Behind them, a legendary fashion name, Vionnet, a French brand that has its origins in 1912 when Madeleine Vionnet  established her maison in Paris. Now the brand is living a new age thanks to the talent and savoir faire of new designers who find inspiration in its heritage. Here is the result!

Awesome!

See you tomorrow!

Red and pink

Hi readers!

The weekend has gone by but I still have vivid memories of the French toast I had on Sunday when I went to have a brunch at "THE MARMALADE PANTRY". The best French toast worldwide, promise!

Today I want to show you an outfit that drives me crazy. It´s from the fall-winter collection of Giambattista Valli. Awesome!

I love the colours, so YSL, the mix of materials, the volume on the skirt, the transparent top with the shoulder-pads, the rounded collar, so simple, so stylish, perfect!

I have to dedicate this post to a friend of mine that was in Paris this weekend. Hope you have had a good time.

See you all tomorrow. Have a nice day!

kaleidoscope

Hi readers!

We have been very busy these days. Since we got a job at Harper´s Bazaar magazine we don´t have much time to write a daily post. We still need to get used to the routine, people, schedules and tasks. We only can say that it is amazing to have the opportunity to learn from one of the best fashion magazines worldwide-

A few days ago we talked about a beautiful pencil skirt by Jonathan Saunders and today we want to show you the collection, absolutely beautiful.

We love the mix of colours, textures and prints. The lines so simples, based on classics, are a good choice when a collection contains such a wide variety of colours and mosaics. That way you can concentrate on one thing without ending up feeling dizzy.

In contrast, the black outfits and those looks based on dark and plain colours show a note of elegance, sensibility and wisdom.

Have a nice day!
